Recently the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the infamous Indian guru that once was the guru of the Beatles, died in his center in Vlodrop in the Netherlands. The world-press released a fair amount of uncritical and unresearched hagiographic articles containing praising biographies of this guru that nonetheless was very controversial during his lifetime. It took a deep delve into the internet to find an article shedding a less positive light on the founder of the Transcendental Meditation movement - although it was provided by the last journalist that interviewed the Maharishi.
Anglican churches will soon return to their mission to alleviate poverty, disease and injustice and abandon a "fixation" with homosexuality, says Anglican Bishop Trevor Mwamba, the recently-appointed dean of the Anglican Church of the Province of Central Africa.
