In an article entitled: "Vatican tells Hindus forced conversions impossible" Reuters reported that the Vatican officially told Indians that it was impossible to forcibly convert anyone to another religion. Reuters stressed the importance of this message as these days Hindu activists are increasingly accusing missionaries for pressuring poor Indians to adopt Christianity.

* Although there is indeed increased tension between the Hindu activists and the minority of Christians (read this yunus article for example) Reuters was over stressing the fact that the message from Cardinal Tauran would be such an explicit condemnation of these tensioned issues and was ignoring the fact that the Cardinal also has written a deep and friendly invitation for genuine freedom of religion and dialogue between Christians and Hindus. Yunus published the article that was distributed by the official channels of the Vatican which is a lot more friendly than Reuters makes it seem.
